Praise God, the current loan has been paid off!!!  The loan  balance of $115,894 was paid off on 12/22 using building savings, Capital Campaign dollars, and general savings.  This leaves us $20,000 in general savings and we will replenish the savings over the next few months with the money that would have gone towards the loan.

Capital campaign pledges received as of 12/28/10:  $99,275

This figure may end up being a little bit more as we are allowing for 2010 year end contributions to be received in the office up until 1/3/11.

As April is drawing to a close, we are gearing up for a lot of things at LCC.   The finance team, staff and elders have been busy working on the proposed budget for the next fiscal year.

Please remember to join us on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:30pm in the Grace Cafe for the Budget Dialog.  This is your chance to ask questions or make comments on the proposed budget.

Then at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 27th at 10:30am all members of LCC will be able to vote on the budget, PLT candidates and reaffirm the current PLT members.

Well, spring was here last week, now it seems to be gone again, just enough to tease us!  Soon it will be warm, we’ll have the windows open and will be able to hear the birds again!  With Easter almost here you know spring has got to follow soon.

Newsletter:  After not printing a newsletters for a few months, we received enough requests for it that we started printing the newsletter again back in January.  It is much smaller now, usually two pages.  Instead of printing and stuffing everyone’s mailbox, we are just printing a smaller amount and they are available at the Welcome Desk for you to pick up any time you are in the building.

Church news: The Capital Campaign is under way with a banquet scheduled for May 2nd.  There a lot of exciting new things going on at the church, adding new classes like Bridges and new events like the Fun Run/Walk, 5k & Half Marathon event May 14th & 15th.

PLT:  Letters have been sent out to LCC members with the list of eligible nominees for the PLT, deadline to submit a nominee is April 18th.  We have started to work on the budget for the new fiscal year, with the budget dialog to be held early in June and the annual meeting and voting to be held later in June.

Think spring!  It has to come soon!

Office News / Michelle Saffel, Office Manager:  Newsletter

In October we as a staff decided to drop the monthly newsletter.

Earlier in the year we stopped the mailing of the monthly newsletter and instead chose to distribute them here at the church in the new family mailboxes located in the hallway between the nurseries.  After many months we determined that a majority of the newsletters were not being picked up so we decided to drop the monthly newsletter based on these facts.

We have the current month’s calendar available at the Welcome Desk and it has the birthdays/anniversaries on the back.  Other updates can be found on our website, either on the front page, in each ministry’s blog, or on the website calendar.

I welcome your comments on the newsletter, whether you would like to see it come back, or would like to rely on the website for up to date information, or maybe you would like to have the newsletter quarterly.  All feedback will be considered when making our decision on where to go from here!

Welcome to our new LCC website!  We are still in the process of getting the new website up to date and running smoothly.  Thank you for your patience during this process!

In the meantime, one of the changes that we have recently made is that we are no longer mailing out the monthly newsletters.  We now have a mailbox for each family and are using these as much as possible to distribute info to the congregation.  The mailboxes are located in the hallway between the nurseries.  There are also mailboxes there for you to use to get info to different ministry leaders.  If you have any questions on the mailboxes please contact me.

Continue to visit our website as it is being updated all the time and we are trying to make it as user friendly as possible!

One of the newest features is that  you can now find links to prior sermons, bulletins, and newsletters which are located on the Resource page.
