Some of you may not know this but Aggie Elliot’s father passed away Saturday evening.
Funeral arrangements for Walter Bryce have been made and everything will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley MN. The visitation will be Thursday, January 26th from 5 – 7pm. Friday there will be a one hour visitation starting at 9:30am, with the funeral at 10:30am.
Epic youth “Ugly Sweater Party” has been cancelled for this evening (12/21) due to the weather. Stay home and stay safe! Merry Christmas to all. No Epic on 12/28 so join us again on 1/4 at YFC for our new year celebration.
The Advent season is upon us! With no snow on the ground it’s hard to believe Christmas is just 3 weeks away! Following is a list of December events and schedule changes:
Christmas Decorating: Join us Friday, December 2nd from 5-9pm to decorate the stage and church for the holiday. You don’t need to commit to the full 4 hours, any time you can give is appreciated!
Children’s Christmas Program: Join us Sunday, December 11th at 4pm for “Christmas Hope”. Cookies and beverages served following the program.
Women’s Holiday Event: Join us Monday, December 12th at 6:30pm at Arrowwood Resort for an evening of fun, good desserts, and special guest speaker Kathy Austvold.
Christmas Eve Service: Join us Saturday, December 24th at 5pm which includes a special visit from Heber the Sheperd and his sheep.
Christmas Day Service: Join us Sunday, December 25th at 9am to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Invite a friend!
BUILDING NEWS:
It’s almost ready!!! We hope to take occupancy by mid December which will give us a few weeks to move in and get the rooms ready.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Join us Sunday, January 8th. At the end of the service we will have a ribbon cutting ceremony with the kids as they use their classrooms for the first time!
Later in February we will have a dedication service for the new building.
Children’s / Student class cancellations due to the holidays:
Kidz Zone - no classes on December 21st & 28th
Children’s Church – no class on December 25th
Epic – no class on December 28th
Holiday cancellations: there will be no Kidz Zone or Epic youth group on Wednesday, November 23rd due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Mom’s Play & Pray: cancelled for November 15th & 22nd due to construction.
Children’s Church: since we lost the small nursery due to construction, Children’s Church has temporarily moved back to the Grace Cafe and will continue to meet there until we move into the new addition.
Thank all of you for your patience and understanding during this transition time. We have a lot of construction dust, noise and smells to deal with but we are in the final stages of construction and it will all be over soon… and well worth the wait!
Sermon series: Pastor Ron will begin a new series on the Life of Jesus following the gospel of Mark. This study will take us up to Easter.
Children’s Ministry:
Operation Christmas Child is underway, deadline for shoeboxes/items is November 16th.
Children’s Christmas Program will be held on Sunday, December 11th at 4pm. Practices will be the prior two Saturdays – December 3rd & December 10th.
Epic: this month’s service project will be on November 30th at Grand Arbor Senior Homes.
Women’s Ministry has two upcoming events planned:
Girls Night Out – Wednesday, November 30th – 7:30pm – join us at Lake Geneva Christian Center to see the play “The Gospel According to Scrooge”. We’ll carpool from the church, leaving LCC at 6:45.
Annual Christmas Event – join us Monday, December 12th at 6:30pm at Arrowwood Resort for an evening of friends, holiday music, empowerment, and yummy desserts. Special guest speaker this year is Kathy Austvold who will speak about the plight of young women in India and Asia. Advance tickets $10 through December 4th, then tickets will cost $15.

Sunday School
Sunday School for all ages will begin on Sunday, September 18th.
Adults will continue to meet at Park Plaza by Casey’s gas station until our new addition is complete and the kids are able to move into their new classrooms.
Discpleship
Ron’s message through October will be on Romans 12. All home churches and small groups will be doing the “r12 true spirituality study” along with this. If you aren’t in a home church now is the time to join. For others we are starting small groups just for this study. Please considering joining or leading one of these small study groups.

Kidz Zone starts Wednesday, September 21st
Student Ministry
Epic Wednesdays has already started with their first meeting on September 7th
Women’s Ministry
1 Kings & 2 Kings: in-depth Bible study on offered Monday nights 6-8pm starting October 10th, and Friday mornings 9-11am starting October 14th with childcare available on Fridays only.
Learn the Bible in 24 Hours: this bible study is back by popular demand, begins Thursday, October 13th from 6-8pm.
Women’s Fall Event: Join us on October 3rd at 6:30pm at LCC for dinner, dessert, and hear the story of a local woman’s story of life after death.
