Jerry Kuhlman leads ‘Fellowship, Fish, and Fry’

This puts a whole new twist on Jesus’ promise to make his followers fishers of men!  How about fishing for ‘little’ men…and women!

Beginning this Saturday May 23rd, MN bass opener, through Saturday July 25th Alexandria area youth ages 10 and up can register here to go fishing with a skilled boat captain and apprentice!

LCC’s Jerry Kuhlman of Osakis, MN will be helping each youth that registers, to connect with a boat owner for an educational fishing outing- complete with a fish fry with all other youth on July 25!

Moms and Dads!  You’re welcome and encouraged to come along, as the best fishing is always family fishing…just dont invite Pastor Ron along with you- he’s known as ‘Reverend Shut Down’.  We’ll let him explain that one.  Register your youth now!

A Call to Prayer for Theresa Buse

“I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18).   May the Word of God, spoken through our friend Paul, give us comfort in the middle of life’s greatest tragedies.

Allan and Theresa Buse, dear friends and members of Lake Community Church, are requesting your prayer support.  Last Monday evening, Theresa suffered three brain aneurysms while visiting with friends here at the LCC campus.  She will be going through several procedures and spending considerable time this summer at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

To receive regular updates and last minute information on her condition, please visit her Caring Bridge website by clicking here.  As Romans 8:18 wonderfully states, Jesus anxiously awaits to reveal Himself even in the darkest of times.  Thank you for interceding on behalf of Al and Theresa and their entire family.  We love you Theresa!

The New LCC Website…

Welcome to the new Lake Community Church website. The site is currently in ‘Beta’ which means that it’s close to being finished but not quite there yet so you might run into things that either don’t work or look weird. Think of it as a preview. As you can probably tell, this site is a big departure from what you’re used to for the LCC website and hopefully all of it is for the better.

But the redesign is only part of the site update. We’re also working on adding functionality too. The first thing we’ve added are ‘blogs’. If you’re not familiar with what ‘blog’ (aka: weblog), just think of it as an online journal. (For more info on what a blog is, visit the wikipedia entry.) There is now an Official LCC Weblog. In fact, you’re reading it. Blogs will allow the LCC staff and ministries to communicate more effectively and more quickly.

We’ve also taking advantage of GoogleApps which allows us to collaborate better with regard to documents, spreadsheets, calendaring, instant messaging and of course, email. The calendar tool is still being brought up to date so keep an eye on that.

In the Hopper

We have a few other things that will be showing up here as well such as a photo gallery, forums, and an improved way to get sermons (podcasts).

We’re sure you’ll see things changing on the site over the next few weeks as we work to improve on what we have. No go ahead and check out the rest of the site. Thanks!
